There’s something irresistible about a kingfisher. Those beautiful bright colours, that wonderfully oversized beak and the way they sit so patiently watching the water before suddenly springing into action.
Gone Fishing gave me the perfect excuse to bring out the palette knife and really enjoy the colour and texture. Thick layers of oil paint give this little bird plenty of character and make those gorgeous colours come alive.
