FAQ

Construction and Materials

1. How are your frames constructed?

We use only the highest quality Australian-made gallery grade materials. Our frames are made from kiln-dried timber and primed to stand the test of time. In order to prevent indentation of the edge of the frame onto the canvas, our frames are constructed with a raised lip, which solves the problem nicely.

2. What kind of canvas do you use?

All of our canvases are a premium cotton/poly blend with a GSM count of 310.

3. What kind of printer and inks do you use?

We use the most advanced latex printing technology's and inks - the best printing equipment available.

4. What materials do you use for Giclée art prints?

Our giclée prints are museum quality for beautiful colour accuracy, using natural white, matte 310 gms canson edition etching rag . We use HP pigment archival inks for brilliant, durable colour, on acid and lignin free paper for fade-resistant longevity.

5. Will the painting arrive ready to hang?

Our paintings are delivered stretched across a timber frame and ready to hang.

Our giclée prints are delivered rolled in a tube, ready for you to frame and hang. Note: frames not included.

Care and Maintenance

1. I've never owned an original painting before – how do you clean it?

Don't use any sort of cleaning liquid or compound, ever. A light dust over with a feather duster is all that is needed.

2. How should I care for my giclée print?

Handle your print only by the edges. The oil from your fingers can affect the PH of the paper and reduce the archival qualities. Fingerprints on dark areas will show up as sheen.

Avoid bending your print - a crease will be permanent.

Keep your print away from moisture, condensation and humidity. Although our inks are water resistant, water can still cause damage.

If possible, allow a few days for your print to breathe and the inks to dry completely before framing. Select only archival (acid-free) frames. Wood frames treated with chemicals or paints can omit harmful gases that can attack the ink and paper.

Providing you keep your print free of dust, moisture and direct sunlight, it will last for many years.
