Once you start looking for patterns, you seem to find them everywhere.
Nature is full of them — leaves, branches, waves, shadows, flowers — even things that initially look completely random often have some sort of rhythm or order hiding within them.
That idea found its way into this painting.
Created intuitively with thick palette knife oils, There’s a Pattern Everywhere is a collection of colour, texture, shapes and marks that gradually found their own rhythm as I painted.
I didn't begin knowing where it would end up. That's part of the fun.
Perhaps you’ll discover a pattern. Perhaps you’ll see something completely different. Either way, I hope it makes you stop, look a little longer and enjoy the colour.
