Meet Little Piano Dude. He's got rhythm, personality and absolutely no intention of playing by the rules!
Sometimes the funniest little characters appear on my canvas when I'm not even looking for them.
Little Piano Dude is one of those happy surprises. With his quirky shapes, splashes of golden yellow, deep purple, lilac and burnt orange, he looks like he's sitting at a piano, completely lost in his own little world.
That's what I love about painting intuitively. I start with a blank canvas, my palette knife and a few colours, and simply see what happens. No sketches, no plans, just one colourful mark leading to another.
And suddenly, there's this little dude, looking like he's about to play us a tune!
Of course, you might see something completely different. That's the fun of abstract art. There are no rules, and you certainly don't have to see what I see.
Painted in thick, expressive palette knife oils, the raised marks create wonderful texture and shadows, while the crisp white background lets each colour and quirky shape have its moment.
A playful, one-of-a-kind original that brings colour, character and a little humour into your home. Perfect for a hallway, study, music room or anywhere that could do with a smile.
One painting. One owner. A whole lot of personality.
