What you see and what I see might be completely different. And I love that.
That’s one of my favourite things about abstract art. There’s no right answer and no little instruction card telling you what you’re supposed to see.
I paint intuitively, starting without a predetermined image and allowing the colours, shapes and palette knife marks to lead the way. Things appear, disappear, get painted over and sometimes turn into something I never expected.
Then the painting leaves my studio and the story becomes yours.
You might see a face, a landscape, a memory or absolutely nothing recognisable at all. Perfect. That’s exactly how it should be.
You See What You See is an original filled with colour, texture and possibility — created to be enjoyed rather than explained.
