I didn’t set out to paint him. He just turned up.
That’s one of the things I love about painting abstracts. I start without knowing exactly where the painting is going and simply follow the colour, texture and marks as they appear.
And somewhere along the way with this one, a character emerged.
A little crazy, very chilled and definitely doing his own thing. Once I saw him, I couldn’t unsee him — and Just Trippin seemed like the only possible name.
Painted in thick, expressive palette knife oils, this is a vibrant, playful original full of unexpected shapes, colour and personality.
You may see my groovy little dude. You may see something completely different. That’s the fun of abstract art — you get to decide.
