The ocean can be calm one minute and completely wild the next. I love watching the water find its way around the rocks — rushing through gaps, swirling, foaming and then disappearing before the next wave comes rolling in.
Can't Stop the Tide is all about that movement.
Painted with thick, expressive palette knife oils, layers of turquoise, deep ocean blues and foaming whites tumble around warm ochre rocks. I wanted the paint itself to feel almost as energetic and unpredictable as the water.
